English-speaking private tours in Datong

[ ABOUT ]

We help international visitors plan Datong with confidence.

We do local, English-led guiding in Datong—by real locals who live the city every day. We design custom day plans, arrange airport/train transfers, provide private car + driver, handle tickets and timing, and host you with clear translation and care. From Yungang Grottoes and the Hanging Temple to old city walls, markets, and sunset viewpoints, we turn logistics into a smooth, flexible day so you can simply see more and understand more.

No-rush pacing & museum-level context

One day, perfectly paced. We thread Yungang’s cliff-side grandeur with Huayan’s wooden calm and a blue-hour stroll on the city wall. English narration brings Northern Wei stories to life; logistics stay invisible—door to door, no rush, just clarity.

Balanced & Deeper

Depth without hurry. Day one unlocks Yungang and the Old Town at the right hours; day two takes the cliff-hanging temple and the timber giant at Yingxian—clean drives, right light, and room for questions. It’s the Datong arc, complete and calm.

Common Questions

  • You can arrive by high-speed rail or by flight into Datong Yungang Airport. We can also arrange private pick-up from nearby cities such as Beijing, Taiyuan, or Hohhot. Long-distance pick-up is an additional service and is priced based on driving time and distance.

    • Yes. A booking deposit is required to secure your date and vehicle. The deposit counts toward your total price. If you cancel within the free cancellation window, the deposit is refunded. After that window, it becomes non-refundable. (We will confirm the exact amount and timing in your booking email.)

  • We recommend booking at least one week in advance. Please contact us first to confirm availability for your preferred dates.

  • You can cancel or change your booking by emailing us.
    • Free cancellation up to 72 hours before the scheduled start time: your deposit is fully refunded.
    • Cancellations within 72 hours, same-day changes, or no-shows: the deposit is non-refundable, because we have already reserved your guide and vehicle.
If you prefer to move your tour to a new date instead of cancelling, we will try to reschedule with no penalty, subject to availability.

  • Yes. You can build your own day using the “Build Your Trip” section of our website. Tell us which places matter most to you, and we’ll adjust timing, driving distance, and ticketing to make it realistic.

  • A 30-minute planning consult plus a concise route suggestion (time estimates, opening hours, key site notes, and a simple checklist). Delivery is by email/PDF within 24–48 hours after we receive your intake form.

  • Pricing is per group, not per person.
This keeps things simple for families and friends traveling together — one rate covers your private guide and vehicle for the day.

  • Your booking includes:
    • Private English-speaking guide (interpretation, translation, on-the-ground support)
    • Private vehicle and licensed driver for door-to-door transport
    • Pick-up and drop-off within Datong city
Not included: entrance tickets, meals, accommodation, and personal expenses.

  • Yes. We can accept payment in RMB via WeChat Pay or Alipay, especially for guests who are already in China.
If you are booking from overseas, we will send you deposit instructions first (including international payment options). The remaining balance can be settled in RMB on the tour day via WeChat Pay, Alipay, bank transfer, or cash.

  • Professional on-site documentation and edited deliverables (e.g., 20 or 30 photos; optional 45–60s highlight video) delivered via an online gallery link. This is a documentation add-on only; tickets/transport are not included.

  • Our private tours are designed for small groups. The standard maximum group size is up to 5 guests.

  • Yes. We can recommend trusted local hotels, boutique guesthouses, and restaurants with regional character. We do not charge commission. We can also assist with reservations if you wish.

  • We plan routes with realistic pacing, avoid unsafe timing, and brief you on conditions such as steep stairs or low guardrails. Your guide will assist if you need help with medical attention, reporting a lost item, or communicating with local staff.
However, guests are responsible for their own health, personal safety, and belongings during the tour. We strongly recommend travelling with personal travel insurance that covers medical care, trip changes, and loss/theft.

  • We typically use a 7-seat MPV for comfort and luggage space.
Your driver is licensed and the vehicle is arranged only for your group — we do not mix you with other travelers.

  • If a key site is closed due to safety (for example: high winds, ice, road closure, government restriction), we will adjust the route and offer an equivalent alternative such as additional heritage sites, museum time, or photography locations.
If we cannot run the tour at all on your chosen date and no reasonable alternative is possible, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.
